What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an innovative approach to skin anti-aging which counteracts skin laxity of the face, neck and other areas.  Profhilo is an injectable of one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid (HA).

What is Profhilo used for?

As we age, the skin’s collagen, laxity and elasticity reduces. Areas particularly prone to skin laxity include the neck cheeks, mouth area, and jawline.

Profhilo HA injectable gel is placed at a shallow depth, just below the skin’s surface. By replacing laxity, Profhilo softly plumps up the superficial skin structures, creating a more refreshed facial appearance.  It can diminishes the crepiness of fine wrinkles. This gives your skin a light increase in volume and hydration, lost by the ageing process.

Profhilo is only for use in persons aged 18+.

You should not have dermal fillers if you:

  • have been previously allergic to hyaluranon or lidocaine, or bacterial proteins
  • are pregnant or breast-feeding
  • have permanent or semi-permanent fillers in situ
  • are unwell with a cold/sore throat
  • have sinusitis or any facial infection
  • have uncontrolled epilepsy, keloid scarring, recent deep skin resurfacing or surgery
  • have recent or planned dental treatment in the next month
  • are flying overseas in under 4 days after treatment
  • caution is needed in those with history of autoimmune diseases

What should I do after Profhilo treatment?

You are advised to:

  • Gently cleanse your face as normal
  • Antihistamines may be helpful to reduce swelling if needed
  • After 24 hours you may use concealer, arnica or Hirudoid cream to help reduce bruising

Please ensure the following:

  • No intense exercise for 48 hours.
  • No make-up or alcohol for the rest of the day
  • No international flights for the next 7 days
  • No dental treatment of any type for one month (if urgent dentist needs to prescribe antibiotics)
  • No facials, swimming, or saunas for the first week
  • No “face down” massage/physio/chiropractor pressure if you have had cheeks, jawline or chin treated
  • No waxing, micro-blading or threading over the treated area for 1 – 2 weeks

We recommend you book a 2-6 week follow up to check your results, particularly if this is a new treatment area.
